Building Happyness by Oakwood Homes

As the lead corporate designer overseeing the Denver, Utah, and Colorado Springs divisions at Oakwood Homes—a Berkshire Hathaway company—I played a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of this distinguished single-family homebuilder and community developer across Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. My collaboration with the sales department was instrumental in developing and maintaining comprehensive marketing campaigns, sales presentations, print and digital collateral, email marketing communications, community events, and overall brand management for both the divisional and company-wide initiatives.
One of my significant contributions was the conception and presentation of the “Building Happyness” brand—a people-centric campaign that aimed to redefine the narrative of home building as happyness building. This innovative approach, developed and pitched under my creative direction, remains the forward-facing branding for Oakwood Homes. This initiative not only demonstrated my design prowess but also showcased my ability to strategically reframe and elevate the brand narrative, leaving a lasting imprint on Oakwood Homes’ visual identity and market positioning.
